We've Been Very Busy Over the Summer!

Hello all! We had a very busy school year complete with lots of changes. If you happened to have visited the Lincoln University campus lately, you'll see some of those changes being completed.

One of the first changes you'll note is the removal of the bridge that used to span Chestnut street between Founders Hall and Scruggs University Center. It was deteriorating due, in part, to lack of use, and the inability for our disabled citizens, students, staff, and faculty to negotiate the entry and exits.

Another change that is in ongoing making access to Founders Hall available to physically challenged students by adding a walking/wheelchair rampway entry near the front door. This change will increase accessibility for our disabled population requiring access.

Finally, a long awaited change is the construction of an ease access to Martin Luther King Hall (located behind Founders Hall) which will allow our disabled population unfettered access from every side of the building.

To some, these changes may appear cosmetic in nature, but for our Lincoln University citizens, these changes are ensuring that everyone has free and unrestricted access to classrooms, offices, labs, and other related teaching facilities. Lincoln University has long exceeded the required number of handicap parking spaces on campus, and this latest move in facilities modification serves to further connect our citizens with their university.
